In this workshop, I will teach you how to make your autoharp sound like a banjo or a mandolin. Learn these techniques and you can sit in with any bluegrass group or play foot-tapping bluegrass solos with the best of them. I will show you the picking style that helped me to win the MLAG championship last year. The picking style you’ll be learning can be used with finger picks or bare nails. I will show you my top three brands of finger picks. We’ll also learn ways to keep those fast-moving finger picks from flying off your fingers. Join us for a little pickin’ and grinnin’. You’ll need a chromatic or G diatonic autoharp for this workshop. The ability to play scales and simple melodies is very helpful as well.
