Mountain Laurel Autoharp Gathering

The Mountain Laurel Autoharp Gathering brings together autoharp enthusiasts from around the world for five days of workshops, concerts and ’round the clock music-making. Now in its thirtieth year, the Gathering features concerts and workshops from some of the folk world’s best musicians — and they come because no matter what else they’re famous for, they also just happen to play the autoharp!

Our 2022 Gathering will be held at Shippensburg University • Jun 6-12, 2022

The final schedule for MLAG 2022 has been announced and posted on the MLAG WEB site.

As promised, we are incorporating a virtual component for 2022 for those that can’t attend in person. Registration for the virtual component of MLAG 2022 is now open. Go here to get started!

Descriptive listings of planned MLAG 2022 workshops by each instructor have been added to our schedule TAB.  In person workshops are here while virtual workshops are here. The combined schedule for all workshops is here.

Early Bird registration for the 30th MLAG is over, but don’t let that stop you from registering and joining us at Shippensburg! You may notice from our banner that there has been one change in our performer lineup for 2022. Recently, Bryan Bowers found that he cannot make the trip from the west coast this year. So, in addition to Les Gustafson-Zook, Ivan Stiles, Karen Mueller, Ron Wall, and Cindy Harris & Strange Times, we will enjoy the performing and instruction of… Lucille Reilly! Lucille is our only three-time MLAG Contest Champion, a member of the Autoharp Hall of Fame, and a world-renowned autoharp instructor, performer, and scholar. She will add much depth to our slate of performers who ALL have outstanding experience performing and teaching. So sign up now!

In 2022, we will be moving from Little Buffalo State Park, our home for nearly 20 years, to Shippensburg University.  The move will provide us with many advantages to include:

        • On-site hotel-style dorm lodging including all meals
        • Vegan, Gluten Free, & Vegetarian options
        • Completely handicap accessible
        • Air-conditioned classrooms and concert venues
        • Plenty of jamming spaces indoors and out
        • Dry RV and tent camping available
        • Three Pre-Gathering classes June 7-8

For more information, please read Kathie Hollandsworth’s Director’s Message and view her Sunday Closing video rundown of what we can expect from the move.
